Halloween 2026 lands on a Saturday, and Nashville leans into the whole three-day stretch. Our honest read is that the city's best Halloween experiences this year spread across three distinct neighborhoods, each a real drive from the next, each with its own parking and cargo math. Here's the itinerary we'd hand a friend, plus the straightforward case for whether the 2026 Genesis GV70 or the GV80 belongs in your driveway for the weekend.
The 2026 Genesis GV80 is the one to reach for if you're moving a full family row, while the GV70 is the right call for two adults or a compact crew who want a more agile footprint in tighter downtown parking. Both get the job done, and neither choice is wrong. It depends on who's riding along.
What's the Route?
We mapped four verified stops, running roughly south to north through Nashville, and arranged them so you're not doubling back across I-65 with a carload of tired kids at 9 p.m. The order matters more than any single stop here, since the drive times stack up fast once the evening crowds settle in.
| Stop | Drive Time from Prior Stop | What to Do | What to Pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nashville Zoo (Boo at the Zoo) | Starting point | Trick-or-treat stations, animal shows, Dia de los Muertos night; nightly 5-9 pm through Nov. 1 | Costumes, reusable bags for candy, snacks |
| Cheekwood Estate & Gardens | ~12 min north | 100,000 pumpkins, Marigold River, Scarecrow Trail; open 9 am. 5 pm through Nov. 1 | Layers, stroller if needed, water |
| All Hallows East (East Nashville) | ~25 min east | Block party, costume contest, live music, trick-or-treating with local businesses; Oct. 31, 4-10 pm | A second costume change if you're committed |
| Lower Broadway | ~10 min west | Halloween Bar Crawl, live music on every block, late-night energy | Walking shoes, patience for the crowd |
The Four Stops, In Order
Stop 1: Nashville Zoo. Boo at the Zoo (Start Here)
The Nashville Zoo at Grassmere sits at 3777 Nolensville Pike, which puts it roughly five minutes from our showroom on Bell Road, though proximity isn't why we'd send you here first. It runs through November 1, nightly from 5 to 9 p.m., with 10 trick-or-treat stations for kids ages 2 to 12, nightly animal shows at 5:45, 6:45, and 7:45 p.m., and a Dia de los Muertos celebration closing the run on November 1.
Here the cargo question gets practical. The GV70's 28.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats swallows a stroller, two costume bags, and the inevitable Halloween haul without any fuss. Load the GV80 with three rows occupied and that 36.5 cubic feet behind the second row becomes your working zone, so pack accordingly. Neither vehicle makes you trade rear-seat comfort for cargo room on a single-evening outing.
Browse the current GV70 and GV80 inventory if you're still weighing which configuration fits your crew.
Stop 2: Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. Harvest Festival (Daytime Anchor)
Cheekwood Harvest runs Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through November 1, over at 1200 Forrest Park Drive, and it's the daytime anchor the rest of the day builds around. This year's "Once Upon a Harvest" theme adds 100,000 pumpkins, the new Marigold River (more than 2,500 orange, red, and yellow blooms along the main walkway), a Pumpkin Village with three interactive pumpkin houses, and a Scarecrow Trail. Halloween weekend specifically brings the Bootanical Bash costume contest and dance party on October 29 during Harvest NIGHTS (5 to 9 p.m.).
Cheekwood's grounds run 55 acres, so plan to cover them on foot. The GV70's cabin handles road fatigue well between stops on a full day, with seats bolstered properly for longer sits. You'll walk them. The GV80's second-row legroom (116.3-inch wheelbase, 194.5 inches overall) leaves back-seat passengers arriving ready to walk rather than relieved just to be standing.
The parking deserves one honest caveat. Cheekwood's lot fills on weekend afternoons during Harvest season, so arriving by 10 a.m. on Saturday gives you the cleaner approach. If you're driving the GV80, remember it's a larger vehicle at 194.5 inches long; the lot handles it fine, but the parallel situations on the surrounding residential streets don't.

Stop 3: All Hallows East (Evening. East Nashville)
All Hallows East runs October 31 from 4 to 10 p.m. in East Nashville, and it plays like a real neighborhood block party instead of a produced spectacle. Expect costume contests with cash prizes, live music, trick-or-treating with participating local businesses, and a pet costume contest if you've brought the dog along. The streets here are walkable, which counts for something once you're three stops deep.
Getting from Cheekwood to East Nashville on a Saturday afternoon during Halloween weekend means working I-440 East or surface streets through Green Hills and Belmont. Budget 30 to 40 minutes if you're leaving Cheekwood around 3:30 p.m. The GV70's more responsive steering makes lane changes feel less deliberate on congested Nashville interstates, and the GV80 keeps the noise floor lower at highway speeds, which you'll appreciate if the kids fell asleep on the way over.
Stop 4: Lower Broadway (Late Night)
Halloween night on Lower Broadway is exactly what it sounds like, loud and crowded and fully committed, and it earns a spot only if your group still has energy left to spend. The Halloween Bar Crawl runs with wristband pickup at Acme Feed and Seed from 4 to 7 p.m., with crawl activity through multiple venues into the late evening. The GV80's genuine seven-passenger seating configuration earns its keep here if you're coordinating a larger group, since everyone arrives together and the covered garages off Second and Third Avenues work better with one well-sorted vehicle than two.
The GV70 is the better choice if it's just the two of you and you've made peace with the fact that parking near Broadway on Halloween night takes patience no matter what you're driving.
- [ ] Confirm Boo at the Zoo tickets in advance (nashvillezoo.org)
- [ ] Charge the GV70 or GV80 the night before (full tank, or full battery for Electrified GV70)
- [ ] Pack costumes in a labeled bag per person, the GV80's cargo floor stays flat with the third row up
- [ ] Bring layers: Nashville in late October runs 45-60 degrees after dark
- [ ] Load snacks before the Zoo stop. Food trucks are at Cheekwood, not guaranteed at Broadway
- [ ] Designate a driver before Lower Broadway
- [ ] Download the Waze or Google Maps offline map for downtown. Cell signals get compressed on Broadway at peak Halloween
Tweak It to Your Crew
Not every crew wants four stops, and you can trim or swap without rebuilding the day around a whole new plan. The three variants below keep the good bones and change only what fits the people actually riding with you.
Two adults, no kids: Skip Boo at the Zoo and start at Cheekwood for the Bootanical Bash on October 29 (Harvest NIGHTS, 5-9 p.m.), then push on to All Hallows East or Lower Broadway. The GV70 is genuinely the right vehicle for this version. The EPA rates the 2.5T AWD GV70 at up to 20 city / 28 highway mpg, and a two-stop evening doesn't need the GV80's third-row capacity or its larger fuel appetite (the GV80 2.5T returns 19 city / 24 highway per EPA estimates).
Family with kids ages 2-12: Keep stops 1 and 2, then add the Assembly Food Hall Trick or Treatery downtown (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 31) as a midday indoor option when energy flags. Skip Lower Broadway entirely after 7 p.m. With the optional third row filled, the GV80's seven-passenger capacity and 6,000-pound tow rating (for the family trailer, not Halloween) stop being decoration and start being the right tool for the configuration.
One car, large group: The GV80's 71.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity and seven-passenger seating make this itinerary genuinely viable for a group that would rather not coordinate two vehicles across four Nashville neighborhoods.
