2026 Genesis GV80 parked near a Nashville estate entrance surrounded by fall foliage for Cheekwood Harvest

The GV80 is our first choice for Cheekwood Harvest, and the reason is specific. Cheekwood Estate & Gardens is blanketing its 55-acre grounds in more than 100,000 pumpkins this fall, so you're packing for a full afternoon on a large property, not a quick walk-through. Parking can fill up during peak events. Harvest NIGHTS on October 8 sold out, with walk-up tickets only available to guests who showed proof of rideshare use, and you'll want a cabin that handles the gear for the outing and the drive home after dark in real comfort. The GV80 is sized for all of that. The GV70 earns its place for a different reason we'll get to.

Both picks are 2026 models currently on our lot.

The Ranking at a Glance

Rank Pick Best For Standout Spec
1 GV80 Families, groups of 3-5, Harvest NIGHTS 36.5 cu ft cargo (2-row), 71.7 cu ft seats folded
2 GV70 Couples, solo outings, easy parking 28.9 cu ft cargo, composed ride on narrow Belle Meade streets

The GV80 Is the Right Vehicle for a Full Harvest Day

The GV80 is the better pick for a full Harvest day, and its larger footprint, the one knock against it, is a fair price for a cabin roomy enough to swallow strollers, extra layers, and a wagon without any planning on your part. Cheekwood Harvest runs September 19 through November 1 as a six-week festival across Nashville's historic 55-acre botanical garden, and that scale is what shapes the choice.

You're loading plenty for the day:

  • A stroller or a wagon for the Pumpkin Village.
  • Extra layers for a temperature swing between the afternoon sun and a cool October evening.
  • Probably a bag of farmers-market finds on the way home.

The GV80 handles all of it without any deliberate packing strategy.

Genesis lists the 2026 GV80 at 36.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row in its standard two-row configuration. Fold both rear rows and that climbs to 71.7 cubic feet. The sill is low. You're not hoisting anything over a high lip, and for a festival trip that number earns its keep in the parking lot.

The cabin is where the GV80 truly earns its rank. Genesis engineers it around rear-seat comfort, and Harvest NIGHTS runs every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., so the drive home from Forrest Park Drive after dark, through the winding roads off Highway 70, is exactly where a composed, well-isolated interior pays off. The 3.5T twin-turbo V6 produces 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque per Genesis specifications. The return drive barely registers.

Across the residential streets approaching the estate, the GV80's footprint is the one tradeoff worth stating plainly. Cheekwood sits at 1200 Forrest Park Drive, approximately 8.5 miles southwest of downtown Nashville, tucked into a neighborhood where some approach roads run narrow. The GV80 handles them fine, but you won't forget you're in a big SUV.

On our lot, with both SUVs parked out front, the GV80's extra length is the thing you notice first turning into a narrow drive. The GV70 slips in easier. Neither is a dealbreaker. You feel it from the curb.

The GV70 Makes More Sense Than You Might Expect

The GV70 earns a strong number-two spot, because for a couple traveling light it's actually the sharper tool at Cheekwood, easier through tight turns and tidier to park, even if its smaller hold is the obvious compromise for anyone bringing a full family. We won't oversell it beyond that.

Genesis positions the GV70 as a compact luxury SUV, with 28.9 cubic feet of cargo behind the rear seats and 56.9 cubic feet once those seats fold. For two people and a camera bag, that's plenty. The 185.6-inch overall length and 75.2-inch width put it in a meaningful size category below the GV80. You notice it in the tighter turns near the Cheekwood lot entrance and in the residential streets running off Belle Meade Boulevard on the way in.

For 2026, the GV70 also picked up a 27-inch OLED panoramic display per Genesis, and it handles navigation on unfamiliar Belle Meade side streets without any fumbling. Small wins add up on a busy day.

Back-seat space and cargo room trail rivals in the compact luxury segment, and that's the GV70's clear limitation. Bring a stroller, a picnic cooler, and three kids, and you'll feel the constraint. The GV70 is a two-row five-seat SUV built for a polished, composed drive, and it doesn't pretend to be a cargo hauler. It earns that tradeoff well.

Buying caution: Cheekwood Harvest Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays through October 25) and Harvest NIGHTS Thursdays draw the heaviest crowds. If you're planning one of those visits with a full family, think carefully about cargo and rear-seat room before you default to the more compact SUV. The GV70 is well-sorted for two; the GV80 is the honest call for four or more.

Our Call: The GV80 for the Full Harvest Experience

Our call is the GV80 for the full Harvest experience, with a genuine caveat for smaller groups, because the blooms, the Pumpkin Village, and the option of staying late for Harvest NIGHTS all reward the SUV that can carry a full day's worth of people and gear. A new Marigold River of more than 2,500 orange, red, and yellow blooms lines the walkway from the Bradford Robertson Color Garden to Arboretum Lawn, leading to Pumpkin Village with its three interactive pumpkin houses, and the GV80 is the one that accommodates the full day, not just the drive there.

That said, don't dismiss the GV70 if your group is two and your pace is unhurried. It's a considered SUV that handles the return drive through Belle Meade just as composed, in a footprint that fits the residential approach more naturally.

Our team is glad to walk you through both on the lot, side by side, so you can feel the difference instead of reading about it.
